ICSAA Orlando 2024 has found a new home!

We are excited to announce ICSAA Orlando 2024 has a contract with a new location:

4-Star DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando.

This new hotel contract affords us the opportunity to offer MORE conference sessions, as we have access to conference space ALL day, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Our new ICSAA Orlando 2024 contract with Doubletree is comparable to the one we had with Wyndham except the room rate is $139 plus tax only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (instead of $115 plus tax) but, as with Wyndham, it does waive resort fees. We do have a 550-room nights limit at that rate.

Parking is $10/night for hotel guests or $15/day, both rates reduced from $31. Our cutoff date for getting reduced rates is better. Registrants have until Sept. 5, 2024, and we will still be able to provide 2 meals.

We understand the cost increase may present challenges. If you feel this increase puts attending the conference outside your budget, you can get a refund for your registration by logging into EVENTBRITE (

We are looking forward to seeing you all in Orlando in September!

To guarantee the $139/night rate, book your rooms here while discounted rooms last and before September 5, 2024: (ICSAA 2024 (

Ray Baker MD (ret.)

Fellow, American Society of Addiction Medicine,

Diplomate of American Board of Addiction Medicine

Associate Clinical Professor

UBC Faculty of Medicine

After 12 years of rural family medicine and over 30 years as a consultant in Occupational Addiction Medicine, Ray retired from clinical practice to focus on what we are starting to call Recovery Medicine. He developed the University of British Columbia Addiction Medicine curriculum and wrote a chapter on alcoholism in Conn’s Current Therapy, a medical textbook. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the editorial board of the Journal of Addictive Diseases. Ray is a Recovery Coach trainer and is in the process of publishing Recovery Coaching: Knowledge and Skills, a training manual. As a member of Canada’s National Recovery Research Expert Advisory committee, he helped design and interpret Canada’s Life in Recovery Survey (2016). In long-term recovery from addiction, Ray became a late-life marathoner, triathlete and the proud grandfather of five-year-old grand-twins. This year Ray and Agnes celebrated 52 years of not-always-serene but, thanks in part to their continued involvement in their own recovery activities, remarkably improved, marriage.
